Mrs. Abell provides ongoing relationship management and also is instrumental in the acquisition of new client relationships. She works with new and existing clients to determine goals and objectives and is instrumental is determining the proper asset allocation and investment strategy for the client. She also works with the client’s attorney on Estate Planning issues.
Formerly with Arthur Andersen and Co, Mrs. Abell has been in the Wealth Management business for over 30 years, primarily in the Banking and Trust sector. She has been an Officer of Northern Trust, Chicago, Vice President of Old Kent Bank, Chicago, and most recently retired after 14 years as Managing Director and Senior Trust Officer at The PrivateBank and Trust Company of Chicago, where she managed complex client relationships, including the management and selection of investment advisors. In this capacity she worked closely with Diana Joseph for the past 10 years.
Mrs. Abell lived in Winnetka, Illinois for 30 years, having raised her family there. She now resides in Wickford, Rhode Island. She is Past President of The Board of Governors of the Winnetka Community House, past Board of Directors member of the Winnetka Rotary Club and the Winnetka United Way. She is a prior member of The Board of Directors of the Women’s Board of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Junior League of Chicago. She chaired the first American Cancer Society Relay for Life for New Trier Township and served on the Professional Advisory Board for the American Cancer Society. Ellen is currently a volunteer mentor at the Job Corps Academy of Rhode Island.
